居なくなった篠田
加賀美が危険人物として検知され、止めるために篠田の入院する病院に向かう井沢。病室に入ると、ベッドに座る加賀美の姿があり、篠田は既に消えていた。
篠田のアジトを訪れた山内は、殺された諏訪の事件を調べる早川から、小田切の骨伝導ベルトに盗聴器が仕掛けられていたことを知らされる。
ミハンの情報は、篠田に漏れていたのだった。香坂を無線で呼び出したのも篠田だと分かる。
監察官から話を聞きたいと言われて聴取を受けた小田切は、自ら警察を辞めることを告げる。
その頃、井沢は宇佐美に面会に行っていた。篠田がいた養護施設に、戸籍を変える前の宇佐美の名前があったことを明かすと、施設内で篠田をイジメていたことを話す。
だが、篠田が施設長を殺してくれたことで、宇佐美は救われたのだった。
危険人物として篠田が検知される。行方を追うと、防犯カメラをわざと見て挑発する篠田の姿を見つける。さらに、篠田は里谷と一緒にいることから、爆弾がまだ存在することを指摘する加賀美。
小宮山に会いに行った井沢に、篠田が夢が未完成であることや、それを完成させるために動いていることを伝える。
篠田がミハンの法制化を強く望んでいることから、南雲を暗殺する計画を実行するつもりだと考える井沢。
篠田の行方を追う井沢たち
その頃、南雲はオペ中で、終わるまで最低でも3時間はかかる状態だった。院内の爆弾を探していた井沢たち。
電源盤の工事に入った業者が存在しないことから、電源盤を調べると、山内が爆弾を発見する。すぐに爆弾処理班が駆けつけるが、複雑なトラップが仕掛けられていて、解除には3時間を要すると言う。
時間前に解除するには、篠田が持っている起爆装置を手に入れるしかなかった。篠田の居場所を考えた井沢は、始まりの場所で全てを終わらせようと考えていることに気づく。
篠田の元に向かう井沢たちだったが、車が道を塞ぎ、降りて来たのは里谷だった。里谷は、曽根崎からテロに協力するように言われた後、篠田と会い過去の生い立ちを聞いたと言う。
そして、篠田にかけてみたくなった里谷は、篠田に協力したのだった。
井沢たちと揉み合いになる里谷。里谷に手こずる井沢の元に山内が来て「先に行ってください」と里谷を引き受ける。
篠田のところに急ぐ井沢
映画館に辿り着いた井沢が中に入ると、一人で映画を観ている篠田がいた。26年前のことを話し、加賀美と会ったことで生きる意味を見つけたのだと話す篠田。
近づく井沢に起爆装置を見せ、近づいたら押すと言う篠田。井沢が、香坂をなぜ殺したのかと尋ねると、起爆装置を見せた際香坂がそれを壊そうとしたため、撃ったのだと話す。
その頃、里谷と戦っていた山内たちの元に、小田切が駆けつけていた。
篠田に、自分のところに送られてきた血の付いたナイフについて話し始める井沢。「僕の妻と娘を殺したのはお前だ」と言う井沢。
元監察官の井沢の妻はミハンのテストケースである冤罪事件を知り、町田は宇佐美に口封じを命令していた。その話を小宮山から聞いた篠田は、井沢の家に向かい、井沢に話さないよう頼んだのだった。
だが、見過ごすことはできないと言われたため、殺したのだと言う。井沢の娘が最後に「助けて、お父さん」と言っていたことを話し、井沢を挑発する篠田。
篠田の死
里谷たちを倒した山内たちも、映画館に駆けつける。すると、井沢が篠田に拳銃を向けている姿が目に入ってくる。
止めようとする小田切たちを制止する山内。
妻や娘のことを思いながら涙を流す井沢は、拳銃を向けたまま篠田に近づいて行く。銃声が聞こえ、小田切たちが目を開けると、天井に向け拳銃を発砲する井沢の姿があった。
井沢は篠田に、始めから爆破するつもりはないのだと指摘する。全てはミハンの法制化のために行ったことだった。
篠田の中に、犯罪をこの世から失くしたいという強い思いを感じた井沢は「僕は君を許す」と告げる。
井沢に「あなたは僕を殺してもいいんだ」と倒れながら言う篠田。そこに加賀美が現れ、篠田を抱きしめながら「もういい、終わったんだよ」と言うと、息を引き取るのだった。
篠田のポケットから、小田切に宛てた手紙が出て来る。そこには、ミハンに近づくために近づいたが、小田切と過ごした時間はかけがえのないものだったと書かれていた。
里谷の自供により、曽根崎も逮捕される。
その後、ミハンが再始動されることになり、井沢の家でお祝いの食事会が開かれる。南雲も法制化に前向きな発言をしていると言い、メンバー全員で笑顔になるのだった。

篠田と井沢の壮絶なやり取りは、見ごたえがありました。
悲劇の運命を背負ってしまったがゆえに、考え方も歪んでしまったのでしょうが、悲しすぎました。映画館でのシーンは、涙なしに見ることはできません。
駆けつけた加賀美の優しい言葉にも、また涙が止まりませんでした。

絶対零度、脚本の相当頭いいですね。伏線回収を最終回前に終わらせたと思ったらさらに上回って事件としても人物達の成長としてもしっかりと終わらせてた。
