大学病院の医師が刺される
大学病院に潜入する井沢たち。
その頃ミハンには、警視庁や法務省の上層部に人間が視察にやってくる。
香坂が案内をし、現在も大学病院の医師、真田がサバイバルナイフを購入していて、同じ病院の医師、益子への中傷をネットに書き込んでいる事も説明する。
真田は益子から厳しい指導を受けていて、来月には病院を追い出されることになっていた。
病院内で目撃した不審な男が白衣を着ているのを見た山内は、その男を追跡するが見失ってしまう。
その時、カンファレンスルームから叫び声が聞こえ、中に入ると益子が刺されていた。そばには真田がいた。
膵臓を損傷し、緊急オペが行われる中、任意同行される真田。益子のことは許せないが殺していないと言い、ネットへの書き込みやナイフを購入したことも否認する。
取調べを見ていた井沢たちのところに、曽根崎がやってくる。視察中の失態を指摘する曽根崎に、真田はハメられたと言う井沢。
本当のターゲット
ミハンのデータがねつ造されていると考えた井沢たちは、医療関係の情報を扱う機関を訪れる。そこには東堂がいた。
ミハンの初期から携わっていた加賀美と東堂。東堂は真田の個人情報を提供し、捜査に協力する。
真田のデータを検索した人物がいることは分かったものの、入室記録が記されていなかった。
厳重なセキュリティのラボにも関わらず、侵入してデータを盗むリスクを負ったことに疑問を抱く井沢。
東堂は気になることがあると言い、ラボで行われている医師が担当する手術予定の患者に対するシュミレーション結果を見せる。
益子が成功率93％の結果を出した患者は、元総理の南雲だった。
通常では手術不可能とされる病だったが、益子が手術を行う予定になっていた。南雲のそばにはSPが常駐していて狙うのは困難なため、益子を狙ったのだった。
ミハンのデータから、南雲の関連人物を探ると、児島代議士が浮かぶ。児島は南雲から目をつけられて、長年冷遇されていた。
益子の思いを知る真田
早川から連絡があり、門田が真田を追い込んでいるため、早くしないと落ちると言ってくる。
井沢と香坂が真田の元を訪れ、刺された益子が「早く戻ってきなさい」と伝えて欲しいと言っていたことを伝える。
益子は真田の腕をかっていたため、わざと厳しく指導していたのだった。地方に飛ばそうとしていたのも、益子が目指す遠隔医療を確立させるためだった。
児島を張り込む井沢たち。児島に聞こえるように、南雲の命が狙われたことを話す井沢と吉岡。慌てた児島は、実行犯と連絡を取る。
それを加賀美が探っていたが、凄腕のクラッカーによって妨害されてしまう。
児島が雇ったと思われるクラッカーは、遠隔操作で益子を殺そうとしていた。最初にそれをしなかったのはできなかったからで、今回はできると言う意味を考える井沢たち。
遠隔殺人？
益子の容態が急変したことを知らせる警告音が鳴る。
その頃井沢と加賀美は、ある人物の部屋の前にいた。その人物は東京医療情報ラボの警備員だった。
膵臓を刺された益子は、インスリンポンプによって血糖値を管理されていた。そのシステムに入り込み、インスリンが大量投与されるようにしたのだった。
もう既に投与したと言う警備員だったが、事前にインスリンポンプは交換していたため、益子は無事だった。
児島の首を絞めて殺そうとする不審な男を取り押さえる山内。自殺に見せかけて口封じしようとしていたが、男も児島も捕まるのだった。
だが警備員は本当のクラッカーではなく、その裏にまだ真犯人がいることを感じる井沢と加賀美。
29日後、加賀美の後頭部に銃口を向ける男がいた。その男に、26年前の映画館の事件を話す加賀美。
加賀美が「僕の犯した罪を知っているね」と言い後ろを向くと、そこに立っていたのは北見だった。

前作でのメインキャストである東堂の出演も懐かしくて、嬉しかったです。6話以降でも登場してくれるといいと期待してしまいます。
