ロープを切ったのは誰？
精神科医・門田の診察を受けた川田レンは、「最近表情が豊かになったよね。もしかして彼氏できた？」と問いかけられ、直輝を思い浮かべる。そんなレンに「恋に勝る治療薬はないよ」と門田は微笑むのだった。
レンが去った後、門田は『一卵性双生児』に関するタイトルが付けられたファイルを取り出し、中を見る。そこにはレンとリコの資料が入っていた。
そんな中、スピードクライミングの日本代表・宮澤沙奈恵がコーチの鹿野博史とともに緊急会見を開き、日本で来月開催予定の世界選手権を辞退すると発表する。
レンはバイト先のテレビでその会見を見ており、沙奈恵が中学時代の同級生だと思い出す。
沙奈恵は金メダルを確実視される有望選手だったが、練習中に突然ロープが切れて転落し、大ケガを負ってしまったのだ。沙奈恵は会見で、「誰かがロープをわざと切ったんです！私を殺そうとしたんです！」と叫ぶ。
そこに沙奈恵の前のコーチ・磯貝誠が現れ、沙奈恵は「あなたがロープを切ったんでしょ！？」と掴みかかる。
磯貝は厳し過ぎる指導が問題視されるコーチで、沙奈恵からコーチを解任されたばかりだ。
するとその時、レンのもとに直輝から「パンケーキ食べに行こう」と連絡が入り、レンの顔が綻ぶ。
その夜、直輝はＭｒ．ノーコンプライアンスから、沙奈恵の件について調べるようにと告げられるのだった。
沙奈恵に代わって日本代表に選ばれたのは、沙奈恵のライバルとされていた北里亜香里だ。
亜香里の公開練習が行われることになるのだが、そこに世界選手権に出場する海外の有力選手・コリーナとコーチのミルコビッチが訪れたことにより、公開練習は中止となる。
ミスパンダが登場！
するとその時、ミスパンダが突然現れ、見事なクライミングを披露する。ミスパンダは亜香里に「ねえ、あんたでしょ。宮澤沙奈恵のロープを切ったの。」と告げる。
「だって彼女が怪我をして一番得するのあんたじゃん。彼女が怪我したからあんたが代表になれたんでしょ。」と言うのだが、亜香里は否定する。
そんな亜香里に「だったらあんたが一番速いってとこ見せてよ。」とミスパンダが言い、亜香里は沙奈恵の記録を超えるタイムを叩き出したのだった。
翌日、レンは、入院中の沙奈恵を訪ねる。レンは沙奈恵に「あの、川田レンです。」と名乗ると、沙奈恵もレンのことを思い出したようだ。
そして二人は久しぶりの再会を喜ぶ。
沙奈恵はレンに「リコちゃんも生きていたら」と言われ、動揺するのだった。
するとその時、鹿野が病室にやって来たため、レンは帰ることにする。
レンは病室を出た後、10年前の火事の記憶がフラッシュバックしてしまうのだった。
一方、神代も沙奈恵が入院している病院にやって来ており、そっと沙奈恵の病室を覗くとそこには…。
その後、レンは直輝と会い、沙奈恵と会ってきたことを告げる。
直輝はレンの顔色が悪いことに気付き、「悩み事があったらいつでも相談して」と言う。
レンが直輝に過去を打ち明ける
レンは直輝に、最近昔の記憶がフラッシュバックすることを打ち明ける。
10年前、母と双子の姉のリコと一緒にキャンプに行った。その時、三人が泊まっていたバンガローが誰かに放火され、パニックになったレンはリコを見捨てて逃げたのだった。
そのことをレンはずっと後悔しており、門田の治療で良くなっていたのだが、最近またフラッシュバックするようになったと告げる。
直輝はレンを抱き締め、「俺も一緒だよ。大好きな父親を亡くした。心の痛みや苦しみを自然に忘れることなんてできない。だから原因を取りのぞくしかないんだ。安心して。俺とレンは一緒だよ。」と告げる。
その後、二人はパンケーキを食べに行く。
その頃、テレビでは神代がスクープした沙奈恵と鹿野の熱愛騒動が流れていた。
夜、ミスパンダが生配信を行う。ミスパンダはクライミングの練習場に行き、そこでは亜香里が練習していた。
そしてミスパンダは「あんたも同じ目に遭ってみなよ」と言い、亜香里のロープを切るのだった。
暗転し、ミスパンダは次に誰かのホテルの部屋に侵入する。
川田レンは、レンじゃない？
その部屋の中では、鹿野とミルコビッチが密会していた。
沙奈恵のロープを切ったのは鹿野だったのだ。先ほどミスパンダが亜香里のロープを切ったのは二人を油断させるための罠であり、亜香里はミスパンダに協力したのだった。
権力が欲しい鹿野と自分の教え子を優勝させたいミルコビッチは手を組んで、優勝候補の沙奈恵が大会に出られないよう怪我をさせたのだった。
公開練習で亜香里が沙奈恵の記録を抜かしたのは直輝が細工したものであり、その記録を見て鹿野が驚愕し、ミルコビッチは「話が違う！」というような表情をしたのを直輝は見逃しておらず、その時から直輝は二人が怪しいと睨んでいた。
そしてミスパンダと飼育員さんは鹿野とミルコビッチを成敗する。
その後、ミスパンダは自分が檻に閉じ込められている記憶がフラッシュバックする。幼い頃檻に閉じ込められて育ったのはレンではなくリコのはずだか…。
翌日、テレビ局では、デスクに置き忘れたあずさのスマホに直輝から着信がかかってきおり、神代が偶然その画面を見てしまう。
スマホに映った直輝の画像を見た神代は、ミスパンダと共に行動している男だということに気が付くのだった。
直輝は門田の元に行き、「一つお尋ねしたいことがあります。川田レンは、レンじゃないですよね？」と問いかけるのだった…。

まさかレンがレンではなくリコだったとは…！あの火事以来、リコはレンの振りをして生きているということになりますよね。
振り、というか、門田のマインドコントロールによって自分をレンだと思い込んでいる感じでしょうか。
レンとリコの母親はレンを溺愛しており、リコを虐待していましたが、今のレンのことはリコでは無く完全にレンだと思い込んでいますよね。
まだ3話ですが、割と重大な事実が早々に明らかになり、今後さらに新事実が色々出てくるかと思うと楽しみです。

門田先生がリコ(仮)に自分をレンだと思い込ませたのは、タダでさえ虐待を見て見ぬふりしてきたのにレンを見殺しにして、精神的にかなり危なくなってたから？
｢自分が変わってあげればよかった｣的なこと言い出して、実際にレンの記憶を埋め込んだら元気になった、とかかな？
