一軒家を借りて暮らすなつと坂場。坂場は家で家事をこなしつつ翻訳の仕事をしていた。
咲太郎はマダム・前島と結婚をした。前島は川村屋の経営の後継に野上を指名した。
その頃、自身の店・風車が立ち退きを迫られていた亜矢美。密かに咲太郎に恋愛感情を抱いていた亜矢美は何も言わずどこかへ消えてしまった。
茜は妊娠し”明子（めいこ）”を出産した。その後、産休をとったが、会社に産休後は契約社員に変更になることを言い渡され退職を選んだ。
なつも妊娠が発覚。なつは坂場と話し合い、出産後に契約社員になっても仕事を続けることを決意。
なつは、下山、神地に出産を打ち明けると、神地は「出産後も正社員で雇うべきだ」と他の東洋動画のアニメーターに呼びかける。なつは東洋動画のアニメーターたちを引き連れて、山川社長と交渉する。
山川はなつに作画監督を任せるつもりだったことを明かし、正社員での雇用に何色を示す。
しかし、なつは「できます。」と作画監督を引き受け、出産後も正社員での雇用の約束をしてもらった。

なつの妊娠を知る柴田家
咲太郎が立ち上げた声優プロダクション”風車プロダクション”を訪れるなつ。そこにはマダム・前島が1人働いていた。なつは妊娠を報告すると前島は驚き祝った。なつはまだ北海道には報告していないのでこれから報告するという。
そこに帰ってきた咲太郎。なつは咲太郎にも妊娠を報告する。咲太郎は大いに喜んだ。
北海道に電話をし結婚を報告するなつ。喜ぶ富士子。それを聞いた泰樹は涙ぐんだ。
作画監督になったことを坂場に報告するなつ
坂場と話すなつ。なつは出産ギリギリまで東京にいるという。 坂場は「お母さんのそばにいられたら安心だろうな。」と言う。
坂場に、作画監督を担当することになったことを報告するなつ。子育てと作画監督が両立できるのか心配する坂場。なつは「やりたいの。」と言う。
坂場は「やるしかないだろ。家で子育てをするのはなにも女だけと決まっているわけじゃないんだ。二人でなんとか乗り切ろう。」と暖かく受け入れた。
坂場の元に訪れた麻子
東洋動画で下山から、イタリアにに行っていた麻子が日本に来ていることを聞くなつ。家に帰り坂場にその事を報告していると、突然麻子が家に訪ねてきた。久しぶりの再会を喜ぶ3人。
麻子は、坂場となつが手掛け不作に終わった漫画映画”神をつかんだ少年クリフ”を観て感動したという。そしてまた自分もアニメをやりたいと思ったという。
「いっきゅうさん、またアニメーションをやる気はない？」
麻子は、坂場を誘った。

・なつは妊娠を、前島、咲太郎、柴田家に伝えた。
・なつは作画監督を担当することを坂場に報告し、坂場もそれを受け入れ応援した。
・麻子は坂場に一緒にアニメーションの仕事をしないか、持ちかけた。
「なつぞら」121話の感想
なつの妊娠から坂場への新たなチャンス。怒涛の展開ですね。
あれだけアニメーションに情熱を持っていた坂場を埋もれさせておくにはやはり勿体ないですよね。
しかし、坂場は「家で育児をするのは女ばかりじゃない。」となつに育児を約束したばかりです。なつが作画監督で多忙なことを考えると、かなり大変そうですが果たして坂場はどうするんでしょうね。
