萬津総合病院薬剤部に新人が入ってきた！
葵みどりは、萬津総合病院薬剤部に勤める薬剤師。
すずめ蜂に刺されて救急搬送された男性患者たちへの医師の投薬を薬剤部副部長の瀬野と共にサポートしていた。
一方、薬剤部部長の販田は新人の相原くるみを連れて院内を歩いていた。
くるみはエレベーターを使わず階段で移動することに疑問を抱く。
そんなくるみに販田はエレベーターを使用するのは医師や看護師が優先で、薬剤師は一番優先順位が低いことを説明する。
くるみの教育係となるみどりのもとに、販田がくるみを連れていく。
心肺停止に陥った患者が心臓マッサージを受ける中、みどりは患者が日常服用している薬に気が付く。
そのおかげで患者の心拍は回復したのだった。
販田がくるみをみどりと瀬野に紹介し、くるみは「薬剤師も患者の命を救うことがあるんですね！」と感動するのだが、瀬野は「ちがう。救ったのは医者だ。」と告げる。
その直後、患者の家族がやってくるのだが、医師にしか感謝をしない。
そのことを疑問に思うくるみにみどりは「感謝されたいなら薬剤師は向いてないかな」と告げるのだった。
その後、みどりの後についてくるみも院内を回る。
みどりはくるみに、糖尿病患者の渡辺奈央と森本優花の2人を紹介する。奈央は中学生で、優花は高校生だ。
そしてみどりは2人がしっかり注射が出来ているか確認する。
この2人は血糖値が安定せず、糖尿病で入退院を繰り返していた。
その後もみどりは患者さん達がきちんと薬を飲んでいるか確認していく。
みどりはくるみを調剤室に連れていき、忙しない雰囲気の中、くるみは薬剤部のメンバーと挨拶をしていく。が、誰も手を止めることはない。
みどりは刈谷に「戻りが遅い！」と怒られ、みどりもすぐに調剤を始める。
そんな中、みどりは林医師の処方箋に間違いがあることに気が付き、林医師に疑義照会（処方箋を出した医師への問い合わせ）を行う。
しかし林医師は自分が間違えたくせに「医者がいないと薬剤師は何もできねえんだな」と嫌味をみどりにぶつける。
それでもみどりは、笑顔を絶やさず対応するのだった。
みどりの判断のおかげで患者と赤ちゃんが助かる！
その後、切迫早産で入院していた矢島さんの処方箋を見たみどりは疑問を抱き、すぐに調べる。
そしてみどりは瀬野に連絡し相談しようとするのだが、「俺に確認する前に医師に確認を取れ」と言われてしまう。
矢島さんの担当医は林医師なのだ。
すると産科の医師から連絡があり、矢島さんが酷い頭痛を訴えていることを告げられる。
みどりはすぐに矢島さんのもとへ行き、産科の医師に林医師にも連絡するように告げる。
しかし林医師は「片頭痛だろ」と決めつけ、なかなか来てくれない。
ようやく来た林医師に、みどりは「片頭痛ではないと思います。ヘルプ症候群だと思います。」と訴える。
最初はみどりの言うことを聞かなかった林も、みどりの根拠のある説明を聞き、ヘルプ症候群だと判断する。
そして緊急手術となり、赤ちゃんも無事に産まれたのだった。
翌日、林医師から薬剤部にクレームが入ってしまい、販田は「葵さんの気持ちは分かるけど、揉め事は困る。」と頭を抱えてしまう。
その後、奈央の血糖値がやっぱり安定せず、みどりとくるみは疑問に思う。
そこへ、優花がやって来て、奈央がまだ病室に戻ってきていないと言われ、みどりは急いで探しに行く。
そんな中、有名なクレーマー・辰川が院内にやって来た。
それに羽倉が気付き、皆に伝達する。
すると刈谷がベテラン薬剤師の荒神に連絡を取るのだった。
荒神がひょうひょうとした態度で辰川に話しかけ、辰川も毒気を抜かれ、大人しくなるのだった。
一方その頃、みどりは病院の外階段で倒れている奈央を見つける。
奈央が抱えていた悩みとは…。
奈央は迅速に処置を受け、病室へと連れ戻される。
「わざとインスリンを打たなかったんだよね？」とみどりが声をかけ、奈央は泣き出す。
奈央の母は奈央を責めるのだが、優花が「そんな皆して責めないであげて。インスリン打てば普通の生活に戻れると思ってる人達に何言っても分かんない！」と優花も泣き出す。
奈央は学校で「本当に病気なの？」と責められたり、隠れて保健室でインスリン注射打っていたら、友達にどんどん距離を置かれるようになってしまったのだという。
でも病院では病気を隠さなくても良いし、仲の良い優花もいるので、わざとインスリン注射の時間をずらして退院を遅らせていたのだった。
みどりは奈央の気持ちに全然気が付けなったことにショックを受ける。
その夜、荒神が店主を務める中華料理店に行く。
荒神は病院で待たされている時とは違って非常に低姿勢で愛想の良い男性だった。
すると、みどりが薬剤師だと知った男性・小野塚から声を掛けられる。
小野塚はみどりが何故薬剤師になったのか興味津々のようだ。
翌日、矢島さんに対するみどりの行動について会議が開かれた。
林はみどりの行動を強く非難し、「始末書程度では生ぬるい。最低でも一ヶ月の謹慎。」と告げる。
瀬野は「一つよろしいでしょうか。葵みどりは解雇でよろしいんじゃないでしょうか。医者にたいして自分の意見を言う薬剤師は首にするべきでしょう。葵は患者のためなら何でもする薬剤師です。そういう薬剤師が病院にとって害になるのなら、首にするしかないですよね。」と発言する。
そんな中、みどりが患者の服用していた薬に気が付いたことによって自分の担当していた患者の命を救えた医師がみどりを庇う発言をし、「私達医師は、もう少し薬剤師の意見を聞いても良いのはないでしょうか。」と発言するのだった。
更に、販田の働き（瀬野が根回しした）によって、林医師はころっと意見を変えて「ま、まあそういうのでしたら、薬剤師さんには責任は取らせなくてもいいのではないですかね。」と告げる。
すると瀬野が「薬剤師さんではありません。葵みどりです。」と告げるのだった。
瀬野は一見冷たくみえるが、本当は後輩思いの優しい人物なのだ。
奈央が退院の日を迎える
薬剤部にでもみどりのお咎めなしという報告が入り、一同はほっとするのだった。
その後、みどりは矢島さんのもとを訪ねる。
矢島さんはみどりに深く感謝し、赤ちゃんをみどりに見せながら「ほら、命の恩人のお姉さんですよ。」と優しく声をかける。
みどりは涙を浮かべながら「ご出産おめでとうございます。」と告げ、赤ちゃんを抱っこさせてもらうのだった。
一方その頃、奈央は優花に「私、もうすぐ退院することになった。」と告げ、優花は「…そう」と答えていた。
奈央が退院する日を迎えたが、優花は奈央の方を見ようとはしなかった。
奈央は去り際、優花の方を一度振り返ったが、何も言わずに去って行った。
みどりは優花のベッドに一緒に座り「昔よくこうしたよね。優花ちゃんが寂しい時。本当は気づいてたんでしょう？奈央ちゃんが注射の時間ずらしていたこと。それに優花ちゃんもわざと注射をおろそかにして入退院を繰り返しているよね。日常から逃げるために。」と告げる。
優花は「そうだよ。奈央は退院して欲しく無かったから。それに私にはもうここしか居場所がないの。葵さんにはその気持ち分かんないでしょ？」と告げる。
みどりは「分からない。でも放っておけない。優花ちゃんは注射を打たなかったら、取り返しのつかないことになる。小学校四年生で初めて会った時からこの薬がどんなに大切か教えてきたよね？優花ちゃんはこの薬とずっと付き合っていかなきゃいけない。逃げ続けることはできない。だからこの薬とちゃんと向き合って欲しいの。それはとても大変なことだと思う。でも優花ちゃんには分かり合える友達がいるよね？その子と一緒なら頑張れるはずだよね。」と優しく声をかける。
そして優花は奈央を追いかけていき、「奈央！私、奈央とはもう病院では会わないって決めた。これからは、病院ではなくて外で会おう。元気になって普通に外で会っていっぱい喋ろう。それでいつか大人になったら一緒にお花見して普通にお酒飲んだりしていっぱいいっぱい笑おう。」と告げ、奈央は泣きながら頷き、2人は約束を交わすのだった。
みどりもその光景を見守っており、優しく微笑む。
奈央が去った後、優花はみどりに「葵さん、これからも色々教えてね。」と告げ、みどりは「なんでも聞いて。入院中も、退院してからもずっと一緒だから。」と答え、2人は笑い合うのだった。

みどりはとても患者さん思いで、全力で仕事に取り組んでいて交換が持てました。くるみもみどりにどんどん影響を受けていきそうなので、今後の成長が楽しみです！
エンディング曲に合わせて、奈央と優花のその後が描かれていたのは驚きました！あまりない演出ですよね。
奈央と優花が大人になって一緒にお花見して笑い合いながらお酒を飲んでいる姿に涙腺が緩みました。2人はこれからもずっと支え合いながら生きていって欲しいです。
来週も15分拡大スペシャルのようなので、とても楽しみです！
