居なくなる文吾
パトカーの中に意識不明のみきおが見つかり、文吾の姿はなく連絡もつかなかった。必死に探す心だったが、見つからず家に帰る。
するとそこに、県警の監察官である馬淵がやってきて、みきおに殺人未遂容疑がかかっていることを告げ、家宅捜索を始める。
何も見つからず帰って行ったものの、不安になる和子。翌朝、マスコミたちが家に押し寄せて和子に詰め寄る。
その頃、文吾は目隠しをされて拉致されていた。みきおの仕業だと思っていた文吾だが、TVからみきおが意識不明で見つかったことや、青酸カリ中毒だというニュースが流れてくる。
和子の様子を見た心は、マスコミの前に出て行き、文吾が人を殺すような人間ではないことを説明する。
家族の話が聞きたいのだと言うマスコミに対し、和子も出てきて謝罪をする。その上で、文吾は自分が正しいと思うことしかしないと言い、家族として文吾を信じていることを話すのだった。
その様子を拉致された文吾も聞いていて、そばにいる犯人に対して和子のことを自慢するが、再びスタンガンで眠らされてしまう。
解放された文吾
みきおに話を聞こうとして病室に行った心だったが、そこに現れたさつきがみきおに近づけさせないように邪魔する。
仕方なく家に帰ると、駐在所の机の上に封筒があり、中を見ると由紀の未来ノートが入っていた。
中を見ると、1977年の音臼村祭のチラシが入っていた。そこには主催者として石坂校長の名前があったため、会いに行く心。
チラシを見せると懐かしそうに見ながら、その際にある事件があったと話す石坂。心のことを何者なのかと不審に思う一方で、嘘をつくことはないところは文吾にソックリだと言う。
そして、12年前の祭りに出たきのこ汁の食中毒で、徳本の母親が亡くなったことを話すのだった。
徳本の家を訪ねるが留守だった。そんな中、山から文吾が降りてくるところに遭遇する。安心して抱き合う二人だった。
馬淵との因縁？
二人で家に帰ってくると、そこに徳本と井沢がやってきて文吾たちにイノシシ鍋を振る舞ってくれる。
元気のない鈴たちのために、用意してくれていたのだった。
文吾にこれまでの事を聞き、未来ノートが置かれていたことや音臼村祭のことも話す心。徳本が関わっている可能性も話すが、それはないだろうと言う文吾。
馬淵が家宅捜索に来たことも話すと、馬淵からは昔から嫌われていることを話すのだった。
その後、署に事情を話しに行った文吾を、馬淵が待ち構えていた。犯人に拉致されていたことを話すと、明日捜査すると言いながらも一晩留置されることになってしまう。
青酸カリのビンが見つかる
翌朝、和子が文吾を迎えに行っている間に、未来ノートに書かれていることを手掛かりに犯人の狙いなどを考える心。
自宅から青酸カリのビンが見つかっていることから、既に犯人が隠したと考えて探し始める。家や駐在所を探し回るが、見当たらず安心する心。
その頃、山の中で使い捨てライターや明音の隠し撮り写真、そして駐在日誌と書かれたフロッピーが見つかっていた。
駐在所に馬淵たちがやってきて、文吾のワープロを調べ始める。すると、これまでみきおが打っていた文章が見つかる。
さらにそこに、青酸カリのビンを家の庭の裏に埋めたと書かれていて、早速調べる馬淵。すると袋に入った青酸カリのビンが見つかるのだった。
そこに文吾と和子が帰ってくるが、手配していた警察たちに取り囲まれ、連続殺人の容疑で連行される文吾だった。

12年前の音臼村祭での食中毒事件が、今回の事件に関わっている可能性が出てきましたが、こうまでして陥れたい理由がある人は誰なのでしょうか。
最終回を前にしても、村人の誰もが怪しく見えてしまいます。
始めの通りに家族がバラバラになるラストだけは、見たくないです。
