翼の夏子と長沼の関係
由貴子の乗った船が爆発し、警察から話を聞かれる圭太。事故ではなかった可能性が出てきたと聞かされ、驚く。
翼と会い、10年前の火事の日は宇都宮にはアリバイがあると聞かされる。10年も前のことを覚えていることに不信感を抱く二人は、宇都宮に会いに行く。
なぜ10年も前のことを覚えているのか問い詰めると、火事の翌日その人のために嘘をついたからだと打ち明ける。
誰かと尋ねると、宇都宮は圭太と翼を連れて長沼のところに行く。宇都宮は、10年前長沼のために嘘のアリバイ作りに協力させられた理由を翼たちに話すように言う。
靴を拭くクセは長沼のクセでもあった。部屋に通された2人は、長沼から翼の母と付き合っていたことを聞かされる。
火事の日、別荘に行ったことは認めるが、火事に関与したことは否定する。付き合っているうちに妻にバレそうになったため、別れ話を切り出したが、応じなかったのだと言う。
さらに、愚痴で話した会社の秘密を公にすると言ってきたのだった。火事の日に別荘に行った長沼は、お金を渡しに行ったのだと話す。
帰り際、録音を防止するノイズを流す機器を見せ、録音はできていないからと念を押す長沼だった。
10年前の偽装建築
長沼の部屋を出た後、宇都宮に報告する圭太たち。10年前の会社の秘密について話すと、その秘密が分かれば、長沼の弱みを握れると考えた宇都宮。
10年前の長沼の秘密について調べると言うのだった。早速会社の資料を調べ始める宇都宮。
2009年に着工されたマンションの図面を持って現れた宇都宮は、本当の図面と下請けに発注した図面が違うことに気づいたのだった。
当時関わっていた下請けの職人に会った圭太は、図面を見せて偽装建設があったのではないかと尋ねる。その当時の担当者について聞くと、今の社長だと答える。
宇都宮は、由貴子のことで警察から事情を聞かれる。由貴子に会っていた理由を尋ねられた宇都宮は、社長の命令で会ったことを打ち明ける。
警察はすぐに長沼の元を訪れ、船の事故や由貴子に何かを渡していたことを聞かれるが、宇都宮が降格になったことを恨んで言ったのだろうとはぐらかす。
警察が帰る際、エレベーターの前にいた翼は、一緒に乗って降りようとする。すると長沼も一緒に降りると言い、下まで降りて来る。
下には圭太もいて、再び長沼と話をすることになる。
10年前のことを再び話す長沼
翼は、夏子の遺品から病院の診察券と、処方箋を見つける。それによると、指が動かなくなるかもしれない病気になっていたことが分かったのだった。
それについて話すと、驚く長沼。夏子は、ピアニストを辞めなければいけなくなることを考え、長沼を脅したのだろうと言う。
火事の日のことをもっと詳しく教えて欲しいと頼む翼。すると、お金を渡した後、たったこれだけなのかと怒りだし、会社やマスコミに秘密をバラすと言い出したのだった。
好きにすればいいと言うと、すがりついてくる夏子。それを振り払うと倒れて頭を打ち、気絶してしまったのだった。
救急車を呼ぼうとした時、火の手が見えたため、そのまま夏子を残して逃げたのだと話す長沼。お気の毒だったと形だけ手を合わせて見せる長沼に、激怒する翼。
翼をなだめて部屋を出るが、その後、ノイズがオフになっていることに気づく長沼。長沼が警察を送り出した際に、宇都宮が電源を切っておいたのだった。
話は録音でき、それを記者に告発することに。そこに、長沼から取引がしたいと連絡が来る。
長沼との取引
録音を聞き終えた記者は、全部書いたら大変なことになると言い、やるなら一気にやりたいと言うのだった。
長沼に呼び出された圭太は、録音していたことを指摘し、お金を用意すると言う。さらに、けいたを帝東建設に社員として招くと言う長沼。
いくら欲しいのかと聞く長沼に、ここで自分を売ったら父親として見せられる顔がなくなると答える圭太。
建築業界で働けなくすることもできると言う長沼に、そうなったらそのミジメな姿を見せようと思うと言う。
そして「由貴子を殺したのはあなたですか」と尋ねる。だが、由貴子の本当の怖さを分かっていないと言う長沼。
その頃、家に帰るため菜七子と一緒にきた瞳。鍵が開いている事に気づき、そっと中に入ると、二本松がいた。
ナイフを持って向かってくる二本松に応戦する菜七子。その後、圭太のところに瞳から電話がかかってくる。
慌てて帰ってくると、警察が取り囲んでいて、菜七子が腕をケガしていた。二本松には逃げられてしまったと話す菜七子。
その頃、二本松から取り返せなかったことを聞かされている由貴子の姿があったのだった。

由貴子が生きていたことは想定内だったので驚きはありませんでしたが、10年前の秘密というのが気になります。
あの火事が、瞳のせいではなく、由貴子のせいかもしれないと思ってしまいました。そうだとしたら、瞳のせいにして隠していたというのは、本当に怖い女性だと…。
