お楽しみ会当日
お楽しみ会当日、放送室にいるみきおの元を訪れた心と文吾は、みきおの持ち物を検査するが何もなかった。
青酸カリはどこにあるのか聞くが、はぐらかすみきお。話を聞きたいと言い外に連れ出そうとするが、いきなり泣き出してしまうみきお。
すると、校長やさつきが止めに入り、外に連れ出すことはできなかった。
その頃、村の外に向かっていた和子は、道の真ん中に野菜の入ったコンテナがいくつも置かれて道が塞がれているのをどかしていた。
校長から事情を聞かれる二人だったが、子供たちが会を楽しみにしているのだと釘をさされてしまう。
教室に戻ると既に仕込みが始まっていて、子供たちはタイムカプセルにそれぞれ入れていた。だがみきおの姿が無く、探しに行く心たち。
外で食事の仕込みをしている正志たちに子供が来なかったかと聞くと、みきおが手伝いたいとはっと汁をかき回していたことを知らされる。
みきおが教室にいることに気づいた心たちは急いで駆けつけるが、みんなに「魔法の粉が入っている」と言い、水の中に粉を入れていた。
毒が入っているから飲まないように止めるが、みきおが自分で飲んでしまう。慌ててコップを振り払う心だったが、その場に倒れてしまうみきお。
文吾が抱き起こすと、目を開けて「な～んてね」と言いおどけて見せるのだった。
消えた和子たち
いよいよご飯の時間になり、焦る心と文吾。みんながタイムカプセルを埋めている間に、はっと汁を捨ててしまう文吾。
はっと汁が無くなったことに気づき騒ぎ出す村人だったが、子供たちの分は別の鍋で作り既に教室に運んだことを知る。
急いで教室に向かうと、既に配膳されていた。非常ベルを押す文吾だったが鳴らなかった。心は、お楽しみ会のはっと汁に毒を入れるという脅迫状が来ていることを話し、食べないようにと説得する。
だが、みきおが「嘘だ」と言い、みんなも嘘だと騒ぎだしたため、心自らはっと汁を飲もうとする。毒が入っていたとしても、これで文吾が捕まることはなくなると考えた心。
「やめろ！」と文吾が止める中飲んでしまうが、毒は入っていなかった。
無事に何事もなくお楽しみ会が終わりホッとする文吾だったが、このまま終わるのか不安な心。みきおはさつきの家に泊るために、一緒に帰って行く。
そこに、山道にドアが開けっぱなしの車が放置されているとの連絡があり、現場に急ぐ文吾たち。するとそこには、和子たちが乗ったはずの車が放置されていた。
慌てて和子たちの姿を探すものの、見当たらない。車の後部座席に、警察官や和子たちが描かれた不気味な絵を見つける。
さらに、車のタイヤの跡を見つけた心は、みきおに共犯者の存在があることに気づく。
絵を見た心は、犯人の本当の狙いは文吾の命だったのではないかと考える心。和子たちを探しに行くと、みきおを探すさつきに遭遇する。ご飯を作っているうちに居なくなってしまったと言うのだった。
犯人の本当の狙い
その頃、和子と鈴と慎吾は、縛られて目隠しをされ、小屋に監禁されていた。その様子を外から覗くみきお。
後ろを振り向き誰かに「あれ取ってきてくれた？」と尋ね、ビンを受けとる。
あちこち探し回る心と文吾の元に、和子たちが発見されたと無線が入る。和子たちの元に駆けつけると、音臼小の体育館に監禁されていて、みきおが助けてくれたのだと聞かされる。
音臼小に監禁したのは、共犯者が昨日のお楽しみ会に参加していたからだと考える心。
家に帰り、お楽しみ会で事件が起こるはずだったことや、みきおがその犯人であることを打ち明ける心。そのために文吾が和子たちに村を出るように言ったのだと話し、もう一度村を出てほしいと頼む。
だが和子は、文吾のそばにいて子供たちを守ると言うのだった。その言葉を聞き、文吾も和子たちを守ると約束するのだった。
一人で出かけて行こうとする文吾に、自分も一緒に行くと言う心。みきおの狙いが文吾の命だと分かった心は、危険だと言い止める。
心の制止を振り切り、刑事課に行き、みきおがこれまでの事件の犯人だと言い捜査を頼む文吾だったが、子供が犯人だなんてありえないと相手にしてもらえなかった。
みきおに呼び出される文吾
その頃、心は村人たちの様子を探っていた。
駐在所に戻った文吾の元に、みきおから電話がかかってくる。もう疲れたから捕まえに来て欲しいと言い、住所を教えるみきお。一人でいるから文吾にも一人でくるようにと言う。
家に戻った心は、机の上に「心さんへ」と書かれたメモを見つける。見ると「俺が決着をつける」と書かれていた。
文吾が一人でみきおのところにいったのだと知り、ショックを受ける心。だが、そのメモにその上に書かれた文字の跡を見つけ、鉛筆でなぞると仙南キャンプ場と書かれていることが分かる。
仙南キャンプ場に到着し、中に入った文吾は、ワープロで打たれた紙を見つける。そこには過去の事件の際に打たれたと思われる「パラコートは時間がかかった」や「やっぱりあの薬はすごい」などの文章があった。
そこにみきおが現れ、どうしてこんなことをしたのかと尋ねると「鈴ちゃんのためだよ」と言う。正義の味方は自分一人でいいのだと言っていると、後ろから何者かにスタンガンで気絶させられてしまう。
共犯者に次はどうするかと笑顔で聞くが、スタンガンを向けられて驚くみきお。
キャンプ場に着いた心は、パトカーの中で気を失っているみきおを見つけるのだった。

みきおの犯行はもちろんですが、共犯者の存在も明らかになり、ますます謎も深まりました。
狙いが文吾の命だと言うことも分かりましたが、みきおの動機と共犯者の動機は違うのではないでしょうか。
村人の誰かが犯人なのでしょうが、誰もが怪しく見えてしまいます。
