「病室で念仏を唱えないでください」はどういうドラマなのか
病室で念仏を唱えないでくださいは（小学館ビッグコミックス・既刊5巻）を原作とした本作は、僧侶でありながら救命救急医でもある異色の主人公・松本照円（まつもと・しょうえん）の奮闘を通して、「生きることとは、そして死ぬとは何か」を問う一話完結形式の医療ヒューマンドラマだ。
松本は、幼少期に目の前でおぼれている幼馴染を救えなかったことから仏門に入り、さらに大切な人の死を前にして命を救いたいという思いから医者を志したという話です。
タイトルを見るとコメディードラマなのかと思います。(病室で念仏をとなえる少しおかしくなってしまったお爺さんに腹を立てているのかと。)

医療ヒューマンドラマなので、最終回の結末はどうなってしまうのかと言う事は期待をしながら見ていくことができるのではないでしょうか。やはり命を救いたいと言う気持ちがとても強いドラマだと思うので、最終回はやはり人の命を救って終わるところだと思いますが、人の命を救えずに終わってしまうと言うような結末を迎えるドラマではないと思います。
そこまで暗いドラマになってしまうと続編も見ていきたいと言う気持ちはなくなってしまうと思いますので、最後はハッピーエンドになって終わると思いますので、最後まで目を離さずに見ていけるドラマになっていると思います。
最終回の予想としては、そこまで今までの話とは変わらないようなラストを迎えるのではないかと私は思います。つまり通常回とそこまで変わらないような最終回になるのではないかと思います。

その僧医である主人公・松本がその道を何故選ぶことになったのか、因縁である松本の身近な人達との関わり、対立するライバル医師とはどうやり合うのか、自身の描きたかった部分をドラマでは取り上げていただきました。今回の映像化にあたり、松本を演じる俳優さんには低い声での読誦と坊主頭で、とお願いしました。その我儘を受け入れてくれた伊藤英明さんが松本をどう見せてくれるのか、また同僚や他科の医師とどう絡んでいくのか大いに楽しみです！！
