由紀の死
31年間、殺人犯の息子としてひっそりと生きてきた心。
今は妻の由紀と幸せな生活を送り、生まれてくる赤ちゃんを待ちわびていた。
由紀は音臼村の事件について調べてみたと心に言い、当時、他にも事件が集中していたことから不審に思う由紀。
もしかして文吾は罪をなすりつけられたのではないかと考え、信じたいと言う。だが心は、今が幸せだと言い、自分には父親は居ないと思っていると言う。
その時突然お腹の痛みを訴えた由紀。病院に運ばれ、赤ちゃんは生まれたものの、由紀は妊娠中毒症で危ない状態だと言われる。
由紀の元に駆けつけた心だったが、真実から逃げないでと言い息を引き取ってしまう。
由紀の父親からは、心のせいで心労が祟って死んだと言い赤ちゃんは引き取ると言われてしまう。
タイムスリップ
由紀の写真を見ながら、改めて子供を守って行こうと誓う心。心は和子に、文吾の冤罪の可能性を話し、文吾に会いに行ってくると言う。
文吾に会う前に、事件のあった音臼村を訪れた心。慰霊碑の前に花を供えていると、突然霧が深くなる。
その場に倒れていた心が気が付くと、なぜかそこには廃校になったはずの音臼小学校の校舎があった。
驚いた心は、神社に向かう。すると女の子が雪の中で倒れているのを見つける。近くの病院に運ぶが、院内のカレンダーを見ると1989年1月7日になっていた。
由紀が調べたノートを確認すると、その日鈴が神社の階段から転落していたことが分かり、自分が助けた女の子が姉だったと知る。
するとそこに、警察官の恰好をした男が現れる。文吾だった。
鈴を心配してやってきた文吾は、心が鈴を助けたのだと医師から聞き、お礼を言いながら手を差し出してくる。
心は手を伸ばすことができず、名前も名乗らずにその場を去ろうとする。だが、そこに小さな女の子を見かける。
ノートには、千夏という女の子が除草剤を誤って飲んでしまい死んだと書かれていたことから、倉庫の中から除草剤を持ち出す心。
思わず「ドロボウ！」と叫ぶ千夏だったが、そのまま持ち去って雪に撒いて捨てる。心が逃げ去る姿を、新聞配達員の長谷川が見ていた。
だがその直後、文吾が千夏の手を引いて歩いているのを見かける。追って行こうとするが見失ってしまうのだった。
千夏の死
すると今度は、女性に危ないからこっちに来るようにと声をかけられる。母親の和子だった。男の子を連れていて、慎吾と呼んだことから兄だと分かる。
先程の病院に連れていかれ、心が鈴を助けてくれたと知ってお礼を言う和子。頬にアザができていたが、発見が早かったため痕は残らないと言う。
姉には頬にアザが残っていたため、過去は変えられると考える心。その直後、文吾の叫ぶ声が聞こえる。慌てて外に出ると、倉庫で千夏が倒れていた。
千夏は何かの中毒症らしく、意識が戻らないまま死んでしまう。真相を突き止め、過去を変えようと決めた心は、駐在所の文吾の元を訪れる。
そこに長谷川が来て、心に気づく。心が千夏と一緒にいたのを見たと言い「千夏に何をした」と掴みかかる長谷川だったが、文吾が止めて家に帰っていく。
心の名前や住まいを聞く文吾だったが、雪の中、千夏を連れて行くところを見たと聞き返す心。
そこに和子が現れ、鈴の恩人に事情聴取みたいなことするなと怒って、心を住居の方に連れていきご飯を振る舞う。
父親を探しに来たと言う心に、しばらくうちに泊まるように言う和子。
和子たちが千夏の葬儀に出かけている隙に、駐在所の机を探る。机の中の箱を開けると、空のパラコートの容器を見つける。
やはり父親が千夏を殺したのかと、絶望する心だった。
雪崩を予言する心
再びノートを見て、過去を変える決意をする心。慎吾と一緒にお風呂に入っている間に、心の鞄を探る文吾。
財布の中からは見たこともないお札が出てきて、免許証の有効期限が平成32年となっていることに驚く文吾。
木村メッキ工場の木村が、雪崩に巻き込まれると知った心は、行かないようにと頼む。言うことを聞かず車で出かけて行くのを追いかけていると、文吾がパトカーで通りかかる。
乗せてくれと頼みこみ乗り込むと、娘のさつきも乗り込んで木村を追う。車の中から大声で止まるように叫ぶ心。仕方なく止まった木村だったが、その直後雪崩が襲う。
心のおかげで木村は無事だったが、さつきも文吾も心の予言に驚くのだった。
夜、文吾の家に金丸がやってくる。警察に連れて行かれた心は、千夏を殺した疑いで取り調べを受ける。
このまま拘留されていると、6日後に起きる失踪事件を防げないと考える心。すると帰ってもいいと言う金丸は、指紋のついたパラコートの容器が見つかれば終わりだからと言われる。
釈放された心は、急いで容器を捨てた場所を探すが見つからない。その様子を見張る金丸。
そこに鈴が現れ、話を聞くと明音が行方不明だと言う。明音が失踪するのは6日後のはずだと考えるが、とにかく周辺を探す心たち。
すると山の中で銃声が聞こえる。足跡と血の跡を見つけた心は、それを辿っていく。すると崖の下に倒れている明音を見つけるのだった。
上から名前を呼ぶと、気が付く明音。そばには文吾がいて、迷子になっていたところを助けてくれたのだと言う明音。
血はどうしたのかと言うと、クマが出たのだと説明する文吾。明音を村まで送って欲しいと言う文吾。
明音を崖の上まで引き上げた後、文吾にも手を差し出す心。だが自分は大丈夫だからと言い、子供を守るのが大人の使命だと言う。
明音を負ぶって村まで行く途中、井沢に会い明音を任せる。そして文吾を助けるために崖に急ぐ心だった。
文吾を信じる心
崖に戻ると、文吾は倒れていた。声をかけると反応はあるものの、かなり寒さで弱っていた。
手を伸ばす心に、足もやられていて踏ん張れず、一人では引き上げられないと諦める文吾。だが心は「あなたに生きていて欲しいんだ！」と叫び、心を動かされる文吾。
心の手を握り、踏ん張りながら崖をのぼる文吾。心も必死の思いで引っ張り、なんとか引き上げることができたのだった。
自分の父親は殺人犯なんかじゃないと、信じる気になる心だった。
一緒に温泉に入りながら、免許証を見たことを話す文吾。信じて貰えないかもしれないが、2020年の未来から来たのだと言う心。
雪崩やパラコートなど、そうじゃなければ説明がつかないと言い信じる文吾。心が捨てたパラコトの容器は文吾が回収していたのだと言う。

1話からかなりいろいろな展開が一気に起こり、ついて行くのが大変でした。父親を恨んで生きてきた心でしたが、31年前の父親に会い、本当の姿を見ることで、信じることを決めた瞬間は感動でした。
謎はまだまだ多いですが、心が過去を変えてくれることを願いたいと思います。
