メガ銀行でのシステムエラー事故
メガ銀行であるいろは銀行でのネットバンキングで振り込みができなくなるというシステムエラーが発生した。
事故調査員会が開かれ、真奈子も出席する。早速真奈子が向かったのは、テクニサスソリューションというプログラムを担当した会社だった。
部長の十川に話を聞くと、リトライしないという仕様変更を、プロジェクトのサブリーダーである高坂が、リトライすると間違えてしまったのだと言う。
真奈子が高坂に会わせて欲しいと言うと、くも膜下出血で最近亡くなってしまったと聞かされる。
勤務状況を調べてみるとほぼ残業も無く問題は無いようだったが、カウンセリングに通っていたことが判明する。
担当していたカウンセラーに会いに行くと、真奈子の元夫・橘だった。
高坂について話を聞くが、次の患者が待っていたため、出直してきて欲しいと言われる。
高坂の過労死を疑う真奈子
高坂の同僚から話を聞くと、2年ほど前にも大きなミスを犯していて、その際に十川が庇ってくれたことで辞めさせられずに済んだのだと言う。
その後、テクニサスソリューションの協力会社を周って話を聞くと、全ての人間が高坂のことを高く評価していた。
仕事がやりやすく、フォローも完璧だったという高坂。自社の仕事を終えてから協力会社を周り、隠れ残業をしていたのだった。
その後再び橘の元を訪れた真奈子だったが、過労を暗に知らせるような言葉を口にする橘だった。
事故調査委員会に十川も出席し、隠れ残業の実態を把握していなかったことを口にする。
同僚から、よく音楽を聴きながら仕事をしていたという証言もあったため、ながら仕事によるヒューマンエラーではないかと指摘する調査委員たち。
その後高坂のPCを借りてログイン状態を調べてみると、一旦退社した後にまた戻って仕事をしていたことも分かる。
中に一つだけパスワードのかかったファイルが見つかり、郁美が解析をするのだった。
音声データに入っていたものは？
行き詰った真奈子は、なぜか橘の元を訪れる。橘と昔の話をしながら、安心してソファで眠ってしまう真奈子。
目覚めて、再び橘と会話を交わしているうちに、何かを思いついた真奈子は「私、失敗しちゃった」と慌てて部屋を後にするのだった。
テクニサスソリューションを訪れた真奈子は、一人で高坂の仕事をしている姿をイメージする。その後窓際にかけてあったポスターを見て、何かに気づく真奈子。
野津田に電話をした真奈子は、今から言う文字をパスワード入力して見て欲しいと指示する。言われた通りに入力すると、見事に開くのだった。
事故調査委員会で、原因を説明する真奈子。システムエラーの原因は、プロジェクトに偽ベテランが居たことだと言う。
高坂がファイルに入れていた物は音声データで、これまでの十川からの指示のやり取りが入っていた。
いろは銀行の仕様変更の指示も入っていて、十川が「リトライする」に変更するようにと指示していたのだった。
自ら過労死に追い込んでいた
2年前の高坂の失敗も、十川により言い間違えによるものだったため、それ以来音声データーを残すようになった高坂。
音楽ではなく、音声データーで確認をしながら仕事をすることで失敗を防ごうとしていたのだった。
システムが複雑になり、どんどん更新されていく中でついていけなくなり、分かったフリを押し通してしまっていたことを打ち明ける十川。
そのしわ寄せが全て、高坂に行ってしまい過労死に追い込んでしまったのだった。
音声データーのパスワードは「for your family’s tomorrow , and for all mankind’s future」（あなたの家族の明日、そして人類の未来のために）。
高坂はSEという仕事にやりがいと誇りを持っていたのだと話す真奈子。だからこそ、十川に仕事や失敗を押し付けられても平気だった。

やりがいのある仕事ができるのは恵まれているように見えますが、やり過ぎてしまうと知らないうちに過労になってしまうのですね。
そのための働き方改革なども実施されていますが、企業によってはそれが逆効果になることもあるようです。それぞれに合った働き方を考えて行かないといけないのだと感じました。
