学校に登校した春海は、陸の彼女から陸と光司がメールのやり取りをしていることを聞かされて動揺する。
夜、帰宅した光司は、転職の相談を綾子にする。今よりお給料が上がるならいいんじゃないかと言われ、悩む光司。
相変わらず陸とのやり取りをする光司だったが、今度はベースを買いに行くのについてきて欲しいとまで言ってきていた。
その話を満としていると、房枝がこのゴミ捨てたのは誰かと聞いてくる。
すると満が俺のアイスを食べたのは誰かと言い出す。1週間前に2本アイスを買ってきて、1本はその日に食べ、もう1本は取っておいたのだと言う。
房枝も春海も食べてないと言い、綾子はゴミは捨てたものの食べてはいないと言う。
光司は同じアイスを食べていたが、自分でコンビニで買って食べたと言い、ゴミとレシートを証拠として持ってきて見せる。
満は、誰が食べたのかを推理し始める。すると春海が、今日牧本が家に来ていたと教える。
房枝が圧力鍋を出す時に、」脚立を抑えて貰うために家に来ていたのだと言う。牧本の事を疑う満たちだったが、突然満が「この事件に犯人はいません」と言い出すのだった。
犯人は満？
満が冷凍庫の中を確認すると、アイスが出てくる。1週間前に食べたアイスのゴミをそのまま机の上に放置していた。
それに気づかず、ゴミの上に新聞を置いた房枝。まとめて新聞を読みたいと言う綾子の頼みで、1週間分新聞が山積みにされていた。
だが読むことなくたまる一方だったため、綾子の了承を得て、資源ゴミに新聞を出したため、1週間前のアイスのゴミが出て来たのだった。
そこまで説明した満に、みんなに謝るように促す綾子たち。非は認めるものの、房枝が牧本と再婚したがっていることを指摘しつつ、謝らずに自分の部屋に逃げて行くのだった。
呆れる綾子たちだったが、春海がアイスを食べたくなったからコンビニに行くと言い出す。危ないからと光司と2人で行くことになる。
帰り道、陸とのメールのやり取りについて聞く春海。寂しいやつだから仲良くしてやってと、光司に頼むのだった。
就職先を紹介される満

クラッチで光司と飲む満。春海から、陸と仲良くしてやったと言われたと、嬉しそうに報告する。
海星から、クラッチのオーナーの犬の世話をするバイトをしないかと言われる。引き受けた満は、早速犬の散歩をするのだった。
その様子を薗田が目撃し、房枝に報告する。その上で名刺を渡し、中途採用試験を受けないかと誘われる。
一方光司は陸と会い、話しをする。光司のことを面白い人だと言う陸は、光司に恋愛の相談をするのだった。
薗田と待ち合わせをした満がクラッチに行くと、薗田の後輩の渡利も同席していた。
家では春海が、綾子と高校受験についての話をしていた。自分の偏差値よりも低いところを志望する春海に意見を言う綾子だったが、いい高校や大学に行くことよりも好きなことをしたいと言う春海だった。
薗田から満の話を聞いていた渡利は、勝手に満に親近感を抱いていると言う。自らも大学を中退した後海外を放浪し、最終的に今の会社に就職した渡利。
就職したことで彼女もできたと、自慢気に話す。
自分のように満も、うちの会社を気に入ってくれるだろうと主張する渡利だったが、逆に満から定職についているからと言って上から物を言っていると指摘されてしまう。
満の説得力のある屁理屈
「働く気のない人間に仕事を強要するのは、動物園のライオンに自分で獲物獲って来いと言っているようなものだ」と屁理屈を展開する満。
満の話を聞いているうちに突然、「俺会社辞めます」と言い出す渡利。
驚いた満は、慌てて今言ったことは冗談だと言い、仕事を頑張って彼女を幸せにしてやれと説得するのだった。
その後、薗田の家で飲み直す3人。改めて会社を辞めずに仕事を頑張るように念を押す満に、短時間で渡利に会社を辞めさせる気にさせる満の営業力を褒める薗田。
渡利も、仕事を頑張って満に認めて貰えるようなライオンになると、やる気を見せるのだった。
「俺の話は長い」4話で判明したこと
・満が先週買ってきたアイスが、無くなっていた
・ゴミ自体が1週間前に食べた際の物で、もう1本のアイスはちゃんと冷凍庫に入っていた
・薗田から就職先を紹介される満
・満の屁理屈によって、紹介した薗田の後輩が仕事を辞める気になってしまう
「俺の話は長い」4話の感想
アイスを勝手に食べられたと言っている時点で、なんとなくオチは見えていましたが、予想の斜め上を行く展開でした。ゴミ自体がまさかの1週間前のゴミだったとは…。
結局謝らずに話を方向転換するのも、満らしかったですね。
渡利のキャラクターにも笑えました。満の話を聞いてなぜ会社を辞めると言い出すのか、ピュア過ぎて心配になるほどでした。でもその後の満のフォローを聞いていると、いいところもあるんだと感じてしまいました。
