妊娠したことを柴田家に伝えたなつ。柴田家の皆は大いに喜んだ。同じ頃、夕美子と雪次郎の間に、照男と砂良の間にも子供が出来ていた。
日本に戻ってきた麻子は新しく”マコプロダクション”というアニメ制作会社を立ち上げ、そこに坂場を誘った。
坂場は子供が預けられる年齢になる一年後まで待ってもらい入社することを決めた。
陣痛がきたなつ。ちょうど東京を訪れていた富士子、剛男、泰樹。富士子の協力もありなつは無事子供を出産した。
名前は”優”名付け親は泰樹。なつが指名した。
出産から6週間が経ち東洋動画に産休後初出勤をするなつ。作画監督を任される予定だったが、最初のうちは産休前と同じ原画を任されることになった。
なつと坂場は仕事をしながら優を幸せいっぱいに育てる。一年が経ち、福祉事務所で優を預けられる保育園を探すなつたち。
しかし、預かってくれる保育園は一つもなかった・・・。

夏休みは北海道に行く
昭和48年6月1日、優は5歳の誕生日を迎えた。なつと一久は優の誕生日を祝った。
優は空に浮かぶ馬の形をした雲を見て「乗りたいなあ。」と言う。なつは北海道で馬に乗せてあげることを約束した。
東洋動画では、なつは作画監督して忙しい日々を過ごしていた。なつが考える”魔界の番長”は東洋動画の社員に好評だった。
なつが仕事で優を迎えに行けない日は咲太郎が迎えに行き、事務所で預かっていた。光子も優の世話に協力的だった。
ある日曜日、なつの家に北海道から夕美子が訪れる。なつと優は嬉しそうに迎え入れる。一久はこの日は仕事だった。
夕美子は持ってきた雪月のお菓子と”たんぽぽ牛乳”を渡す。たんぽぽ牛乳は夕美子が努めている農協の牛乳だ。なつと優はそれを美味しそうに飲んだ。
夕美子は、たんぽぽ牛乳を東京で流通させたら農協を辞めるという。旅行ブームで雪月のお菓子が売れ雪月は今忙しい。夕美子は雪月をさらに大きくするつもりだという。
夕美子はなつに「天陽くんのことは知ってる？」と聞く。天陽はここ最近、忙しくて風邪をこじらせ入院しているという。
天陽の今
入院している天陽を雪次郎が息子・雪見を連れて見舞いに訪れる。天陽はベッドの上でも絵を描いていた。農業の金を払うために、依頼で受けた絵の締め切りが近いからだ。
天陽はもうすぐ退院できるから心配するなという。
天陽は「不思議なもんだな雪次郎。好きな絵を描くために始めた農業が、今は絵を描かんと回らんようになってしまった。」と悲しそうにつぶやく。
雪次郎は「お前は離農しないだけ偉いわ。絵を描いて家族を養ってんだべ。」と天陽の肩を叩いて元気づけた。
天陽くんに会いたいなあ
一久が家に帰ってき、なつ、一久、夕美子、優は夕食を囲む。
夕美子は天陽は今、絵が売れるようになっていて農業の仕事も辞めないという。
なつは「天陽くんに会いたいなあ。」と呟いた。

・夕美子はいずれ農協を辞め雪月を手伝う。
・天陽は風邪をこじらせ入院している。
・なつは夏休みに北海道に行く。

再び作画監督として働き出したなつ。優は咲太郎に預けることになりました。結局、育児と両者とも忙しい共働きの両立は、よっぽど環境に恵まれていないと成立しないんだなと感じました。
嫁ぎ先に勤めさせられることに反発した夕美子も結局、雪月で働くことになりそうです。なんだか、このドラマが主張しようとしていた？女性の権利とか社会進出を肯定しているようで、結果的に否定しているように思いました。
それとは別に天陽くん・・・。

なつぞら・第22週ネタバレあらすじまとめ～なつよ、優しいわが子よ～
東洋動画で新しく始まるテレビ漫画”キックジャガー”の作画監督を務めることになったなつ。そして、”マコプロダクション”での仕事が始まった一久。
忙しい2人。優は茜が預ってもらうことになった。
キックジャガーは好評、なつが考えた最終回もお茶の間で大きな感動を呼び、大成功に終わった。
その後、茜は新しい子を妊娠する。その時、優は昼は保育園に預け、夜遅くなった時は茜にあずけていた。優を預けられなくなったなつは、次回は早く終わる仕事にしてもらおうと考える。
しかし、社長からは次回も作画監督をしてくれと懇願される。以前、直談判し産休明けの作画監督のお願いをしたこともあるなつは結局これを引き受ける。
引き受けたからには成功させようと忙しい日々を送るなつ。優は咲太郎に預かってもらうことになった。
「馬に乗りたい。」と言う優。なつは今度の夏休み、北海道に帰って馬に乗せてあげることを約束した。
そんなある日、なつの家を夕美子が訪れる。夕美子はいずれ農協を辞め雪月を手伝うという。
そして、天陽が入院中ということを伝える。風邪をこじらせただけと言うが・・・。
