新たな章の始まり
あるいつもの朝。いつもと違うのは、朝顔と桑原につぐみという1歳半の娘がいること。家の中や庭には、つぐみの遊び道具であふれていた。
桑原は、朝顔とつぐみより先に起きて朝食の準備を始めた。祖父の平もすっかりおじいちゃんの顔になっていた。朝顔も桑原もすっかりパパとママの顔だった。朝顔は朝から解剖の予定が、桑原も事件の捜査の予定が入っていた。
朝顔が出勤すると、茶子先生が法医学教室で朝から”トムヤムクン”を作っていた。少々あきれ顔の職員達。5年の月日が流れ、光子もすっかり法医学教室でベテランの先生になったようで、後輩のクマダをこきつかっていた。茶子先生が作った特製のトムヤムクンを男性陣が賞味したが激辛だったようです。
一方、桑原はある男性の窃盗事件の事情聴衆を行っていた。盗んだのはマンホールだった。容疑者の娘のことをつつき、泣き落としで自供させた。強行犯係の課員たちが昼食をとっているところへ、事件を知らせるアナウンスが。
ある夫婦の遺体が発見された
野毛山署から法医学教室に現場検証の連絡が入り、朝顔が向かった。ある一家の主、黒岩まさきがひもで首をつっていた。寝室には妻の”黒岩たえ”がベッドに横たわっている。朝顔が黒岩家に着くと、ちょうど娘のゆりがパトカーに乗り込むところだった。朝顔は、平からたえの状態を先に見て欲しいと言われて確認していると、新しい検視官、丸谷が現れ「検視官より先に解剖医が検視するのは言語同断だ！」と激しい口調で、平たちを叱責した。朝顔はひるんだ。
検視官の検視では、たえの死亡推定時刻は、午後１時から２時の間、死亡窒息死または内因性突然死と推定された。朝顔が爪にチアノーゼが見られると意見すると、「法医の先生の所見は解剖室で行ってください。今は私が検視しているんです。」とこれまた強い口調だった。父親のまさきの死亡推定時刻は午後４時、後ろから細いひものようなもので後ろから首を絞められ殺害された可能性があると判断した。
午後３時３５分、法医学教室で夫婦の解剖が始まった。朝顔の「教えてください、お願いします」という挨拶とともに。解剖の結果から、たえの左肋骨と右肋骨が折れていた。何者かに殴られて亡くなったのか。解剖が終わると娘のゆりが待っていた。ちょうどゆりの姉が迎えに来て二人は抱き合って泣いた。
朝顔は仕事の後に、同級生の鉄板焼きやによりつぐみをピックアップした。お店は、他の子供も含めてまるで保育園状態だった。つぐみは同じ保育園のはるとくんと仲良しだった。つぐみと桑原がお風呂に入る姿がどこにでもある風景だった。
朝顔たち3人は、事件の話を始めた。一家には借金があったらしい。近所から怒鳴り声が聞こえていたという情報もあり、何か曰くがあるらしい。
父親の虐待と姉の供述
朝顔たちは事件の検証を行うがなかなか真実に行きあたらない。捜査では、姉妹から父母の交友関係を尋ねたが、二人は何も語らなかった。その様子がどこかおかしい。事件の日、ゆりは自宅に帰っていたことが聞き込み調査でわかった。
丸谷が法医学教室にやってきてゆりが犯人ということを仮定し、何か気が付かなかったか朝顔に尋ねた。そこへ犯人が自首したと茶子先生から知らせが。平と桑原の前にいたのは、姉だった。「私が父を殺しました。」父は、会社がつぶれてから姉妹は父から暴力を受けるようになった。ある日、姉が旅行鞄を取りに家に帰ると、母が亡くなっていた。父が殺したとわかり、かっとなって父を殺したと。
朝顔はたえの死亡写真からあることに疑問を抱いた。化粧はしていないのにリップだけなぜか塗られていたのだ。何か思った朝顔は、現場を訪れた。寝室のエアコンのリモコンは、朝10時に切れる設定になっており、リビングのエアコンは設定されていなかった。死亡推定時刻と関係があるらしい。朝顔はあることに気がつき「私たちは大きな勘違いをしてたかもしれません」と丸谷に言った。
悲しい事実
法医学教室に姉妹が呼ばれ、たいらや朝顔の立ち合いのもと、事件の本当の真相を聞き出そうとした。捜査の結果、父親の方が先に亡くなり、その後母親が亡くなったことを話した。姉は「何も話す気はありません」と強気の姿勢だ。朝顔が、ゆりが母にリップを塗ったこと、靴下のことを姉妹に話したが、姉はなかなか話そうとしなかった。実は、父を殺したのは母だったのだ。母を助けようと姉は心臓マッサージをして、それで肋骨が折れていたことが分かった。
姉は「お母さんは悪くありません。あいつは殺されて当然だったんです」と少しずつ事件のことを話し始めた。事件当日、ゆりが家に帰ると母が「お母さん、お父さんを殺しちゃった」と気が動転していた。ゆりは姉に助けを求めようと呼ぶと、その頃には母は亡くなっていた。一生懸命に心臓マッサージをしたが母は帰らぬ人となった。
2人のために一生懸命働いていた母を助けたいという一心だった。朝顔が姉妹にお母さんに会っていくかどうか尋ねると、丸谷は「彼女たちは事件を隠蔽しようとしたんですよ」と止めに入ったが、平は「これ以上、彼女たちが何かをすると思いますか」と強く言い放った。丸谷と朝顔、平の間には深い溝がうまれましたね。
桑原は、上司の山倉に姉妹は日常的に虐待されていたことが聞き込みからわかったと報告し、これで情状酌量の可能性を願った。そして、桑原は山倉から「県警の捜査一課への異動が決まったぞ」と告げられた。
朝顔の携帯に震災復興係の松永より連絡が入った。朝顔の手袋が見つかったという知らせだった。手袋の中に白いものが、骨かもしれないと。

朝顔に新しい家族が増えどんな感じでストーリーが進んで行くのか楽しみにしていました。どこにでもあるような家族の風景から始まり、上野樹里や風間俊介の演技が自然でまるで本当の家族のようでしたね。この新しい章は、家族の絆をより描くストーリーになっていくのかなと感じました。
今回の事件は、ある一家の悲しい結末でした。母を救おうと願った姉妹の健気な姿が印象的でしたね。社会で話題になっている虐待やDVについて取り上げられていて、ドラマを通して日本の社会問題がより浮き彫りになった気がします。
そして、ドラマの最後に朝顔にある知らせが入り、震災後の母のゆくえに進展がありそうな展開です。来週も楽しみにしたいと思います。
