第16週～なつよ、恋の季節が来た～
東洋映画では”ヘンゼルとグレーテル”のストーリーについて坂場は「その考えは古い。」と井戸原や仲と意見が食い違っていた。
坂場はそれを聞いたなつにたしなめられると「（仲さんたちとは違うものを）一緒に作って欲しいんです。一生をかけても、あなたと作りたいんです。」と言う。
一方、駆け落ちをして東京に来ている夕美子は亜矢美の店で働いていた。夕美子は新宿でジャズ喫茶を開きたいと前島に相談する。
なつは夕美子のことをこっそり富士子に報告する。これを知った夕美子はなつに激怒するが、結局夕美子は高山と口論の末別れた。
なつは泰樹の歩く後ろ姿をヒントに、樹の怪物が歩くシーンの原画を描き上げる。
そうして”ヘンゼルとグレーテル”の魔女は亀山蘭子が声を入れ、完成した。
大沢は、アニメーターを辞め建築家の彼と結婚しイタリアに着いていくことを皆に報告した。
第17週これまでのあらすじ～なつよ、テレビ漫画の幕開けだ～
これまでのあらすじ
東洋動画では「鉄腕アトム」がヒットしたのを受け、新しくテレビ漫画を始めることになった。そこで抜擢されたのがなつ、三村、坂場。坂場はテレビ漫画の手法を「東洋動画らしくない」と難色を示すが、その中でも自分たちのやり方を見つけ意欲的に取り組む。
一方、雪次郎は初の主演舞台に抜擢される。これを亀山蘭子の贔屓だと疑った劇団員は脱退し新しい劇団を作り雪次郎を誘ったが雪次郎は「蘭子さんと共演することが夢だ。」と断った。
舞台が終わり蘭子に家に誘われた雪次郎は「好きです。」と気持ちを伝える。蘭子は雪次郎に新しい劇団に行かせるため、雪次郎を罵り「一緒に出来ない。」と言った。

”百獣の王子サム”放送開始、なつが編み出した手法
昭和32年12月、なつたちが作ったテレビ漫画”百獣の王子サム”の放送が開始される。原画担当としてクレジットされた”奥原なつ”の文字を見て咲太郎、亜矢美は喜ぶ。
北海道の柴田家もこれを見ていて富士子は電話でなつを祝った。
一方、制作現場では坂場が現場監督と揉めていた。製作が間に合わない、と怒る現場監督。一方、こだわりを譲らない坂場。一向に話は進まなかった。
そこで、なつは新しい手法を提案する。それは斬新かつ個性的、それでいて作業効率を大幅に上げるものだった。
その手法に周囲は絶賛。両者とも納得した。
逃げてねえ、捨ててきた
その頃、北海道の雪月に雪次郎が訪れる。突然の帰省に驚き喜ぶ小畑家の皆。雪次郎は「父さん。クリスマスケーキ作るべ。」と突然言う。
雪次郎は店内に貼ってあった演劇のポスターを剥がし「言ったべや。諦める時は潔く諦めろって。もう悔いはねんだ。俺は菓子屋に戻る。」と震えながら言う。
「馬鹿でねえか！そっだら中途半端なことで菓子屋になれっか！」と怒鳴る雪之助。
雪次郎は「俺を鍛えてくれ。中途半端な菓子屋として、人間として！鍛え直してくれ！父さんの元でもう一度やってみたくなったんだわ・・・。」と泣きながら頭を下げる。
「逃げてきたわけではねんだな？」と言う雪之助。
雪次郎は「逃げてねえ・・・。捨ててきた！」と言いポスターをくしゃくしゃにして言った。
ウチはポスターを剥がさない
天陽の家に行く雪次郎。「あいかわらずやってんなー。」
突然の訪問に驚く天陽。「帰ってきたのか？」
「ああ、もうずっと。」と答える雪次郎。天陽はわけも聞かず「よっちゃんや番長も呼んで飲むべ。みんなお前に会いたがってるぞ。」と迎えた。
雪次郎はなつが原画を担当したテレビ漫画が放送されたことを話す。雪次郎は「俺は結局、追いつけもせんかった。」と落ち込む。
天陽は「競争じゃないべ。生きるのは。おかえり、雪次郎。」と言い、雪次郎の顔を見て笑った。
一方、蘭子は亜矢美の店で雪次郎が北海道に戻ったことを聞き「心から辞めろって言ったわけじゃないのに・・・。」と落ち込んでいた。
亜矢美は「彼は分かっていましたよ。分かったから辞められたんだと思います。」と言う。
なついわく、雪次郎はあの後、じっくり考えて自分が開拓者になるなら演劇じゃなくて菓子屋だと気づいたそうだ。咲太郎は「俺は少し、残念ですけどね・・・。」と寂しそうに言った。
蘭子は店に貼ってある演劇のポスターを見て「だったらもうあれも剥がしたら？」と言う。亜矢美は「うちは思い出を捨てない店なので。」と剥がすことはなかった。
「メリークリスマス」
3人はクリスマスケーキを食べて言った。

・なつは”百獣の王子サム”の中で新しい手法を編み出した
・雪次郎は、演劇を辞め北海道の雪月に戻って菓子屋に鳴ることを決めた。
「なつぞら」102話の感想
「諦めるなら、潔く諦めれ。」
と雪之助が言った言葉がこの展開につながったんですね。演劇の道を選んだ時に比べると、あっさりと菓子屋に戻りましたが、もう少し菓子屋を選ぶ葛藤は見せてほしかったですね。
雪次郎はポスターを破り捨てましたが、亜矢美は剥がさず残しておく。そして、クリスマスケーキを作りに行った雪次郎、クリスマスケーキを食べる亜矢美たち。
この対比は上手い脚本だと感じましたね～。
そして、次週！サブタイトルが～なつよ、どうするプロポーズ～
