探偵事務所に職業体験
高校では二年生を対象に職業体験を行うことになった。
教師の原田、里見、田中と生徒・東条、若林、堀江、川崎らは探偵事務所に行くことになった。
田中は、最近東条が1人でいることが多いことを気にしていた。
気合を入れて事務所を訪れる一同。しかし、事務所は依頼が無くやることが全くない。
ひたすら暇を持て余す。時間は夕方5時になりようやく依頼が一本入り、仕事は翌日となった。
工場で職業体験
一方、明智、駒井、牛久保ら男子生徒5人は工場に職業体験に行く。
駒井は作業が上手く行かず工場長に怒られる。しびれを切らした工場長は「見てるだけでいいから。」と生徒たち全員を作業をさせず見学をさせる。
「ごめん、俺のせいで。」謝る駒井。
「気にすんな。」慰める明智。
「ここいても意味なくね？」
牛久保の一言で生徒たちは工場の脇のスペースでたむろしていた。
しかし、それは工場長に直ぐに見つかってしまう。
「サボらないでよー。ただでさえ工場体験で負担増えてるんだからさー。」と愚痴っぽく説教する工場長。
「サボってるわけじゃないんですけど。見てるだけじゃ意味なくないですか？」
反論する牛久保。
「機械壊したらどうするの？ミスして取引先に謝れないでしょ？じゃあトイレ掃除でもする？」と言う工場長。
明智が「受け入れた責任は？本当は受け入れたくなかったんですよね？だから帰ります。」
と言い、生徒たちは帰ってしまった。
探偵事務所に来た依頼
翌日、探偵事務所を依頼主のお婆ちゃんが訪れる。
お婆ちゃんは前日、食堂で天ぷら定食を食べていたが、途中で満腹で食べられなくなってしまった。
そこで横の席にいた作業着を来た若い男に天ぷらをあげたという。
お婆ちゃんが会計を済ませようとすると、すでにその男がお婆ちゃんの分まで支払って出ていったとのこと。
その男にお礼をするため、今回の依頼はその男を探して欲しいという内容だった。
教師、生徒、事務所員、全員で似顔絵を描き、それを元に探すことになった。
各自二人に別れて街を探す。
二人で探す東条と若林。東条は若林に楽しそうに話しかけるが
「許した覚えないんだけど。」
とあしらわれる。
若林は過去に東条にいじめられたことを根に持っていた。
怒られる明智たち
校長・寺尾と生活指導の長井に呼び出された明智たち。
工場から勝手に抜け出したことを怒られ、戻るように言われる。
明智は「担任が代わりに頭下げたら戻りますよ。」
と原田の謝罪を引き換え条件にしたが、校長のさらなる説得に折れ翌日工場に戻ることになった。
依頼主が探していた男の正体は
翌日、原田が糸（原田が家で育てている娘のような存在）に描いて貰った似顔絵をお婆ちゃんに見せる。
「まさにこれ！」と驚くお婆ちゃん。
その似顔絵は駒井そっくりだった。駒井は工場に職業体験に行っている。作業着姿という特徴にも合点がいった。
いなくなった光岡
駒井がいる工場に向かう一同。しかし、駒井はおろか明智たちの姿もそこにはなかった。
明智たちは、工場に行かなかったのだ。
職員室に乗り込み、教師と生徒に説教をする工場長。頭を下げる寺尾と長井。
しかし、明智たちは反抗的。そんな明智たちに工場長は
「お前らがミスをしたら謝らなきゃいけないのは俺。だからお前らに見とけって言ったの。偉そうなこと言いたいなら自分で謝れるようになってからにして？」
と言う。
「ちょっといいかしら。」
原田が割って入る。
「あんたも若いとき間違ってたよね？間違った時上司に謝ってもらったんじゃないの？自分が上司になった今、自分が謝れないってどういうことなの？それが上の責任だろ？職業訓練受け入れた時点でわかってたことだろ！」
「じゃあ、お前が謝れよ。」工場長は原田に謝罪を求める。
「申し訳ございませんでした。」
原田は土下座して謝罪をした。
「これで好きなだけ仕事できるな。こいつ（工場長）明日、ミスしても学校のせいにして逃げるからな。本当に謝ってくれるんなら私も工場に行って仕事しようかしら。どんなミスするかわからないけど。」
と言う原田。
「来なくていいよ。俺は自分でやったミスは自分で謝ったほうがいいと思うし。」とうろたえる工場長。
「じゃ行かなーい！あんたみたいに揚げ足ばっか取ってる人間は心に余裕が無いのよ。だから、じゃ謝れないのよ。」
とまくしたてる原田。
「では明日からは行かないということで、今日はお引取りください。」と工場長に言う寺尾。
工場長は何も言えず、学校から去って行った。
お婆ちゃんのお礼
原田たちに連れられて学校に来ていたお婆ちゃんは駒井を見ると「この人です。」と探していた男はやはり駒井だった。
「どれだけ時間をかけても伝えたほうがいいの、感謝と反省は。それがない人にはなりたくないの私。」
と言うお婆ちゃん。払ってもらっていた食事代を駒井に返した。
若林に謝る東条
帰り道、若林に声をかける東条。
「許してもらえるとは思ってないけど・・・。ごめん！」
若林は土下座して過去のいじめを謝った。
「いいよ。許す。あんな工場長みたいな人間になりたくないから。」
二人は笑顔で歩き出した。

その心意気の深さに感動しました。
そして、前回原田への好意を匂わせた里見でしたが、今回でそれは確実になりましたね。
美女と野獣以上に複雑なハードルがありそうな二人ですが、この恋もどうなるのか気になりますね。
